European Riders is a street compilation created by True Life: a well-known Italian brand that has been working for years to promote Rap/West Coast style through events, music and fashion line that has become the role model for Italy and the Latin world: True Life Clothing.
The compilation is the first-ever in its genre and contains some of the most significant artists of the west coast-rap scene in Europe. Singularities of the project, artistically direct by Prhome (Italian rapper and founder of True Life since 1999), is to touch all the nuances of Rap-West Coast. Not just Synth, but also Gangsta Rap, G-funk, Chicano Rap and more current experimental sounds related to the West Coast style.
European riders intends to not only spread the Rap-West Coast in itself but to officially endorse it as a lifestyle, knocking off stigmas and stereotypes that more often have marked the common beliefs.
The whole group of artists who took part in – among which Prhome and the Sa Razza under the Italian flag –Mr Ferox from Germany, Mr Toks from France, and El Chico from Spain symbolise and narrate the West Coast style through their everyday lives, their languages, slangs, backgrounds and diversities. In full “True Life” style, the artists are the spokespersons of an established genre which deserves to be recognised and embedded within the Hip-Hop family.
